苯硫醚全稱為聚苯基硫醚，是分子主鏈中帶有苯硫基的熱塑性樹脂，英文名為polyphenylene snlfide（簡稱PPS）。
特性：
空氣中較大允許工作溫度非常高可在220℃持續工作，短時可達260℃，在高溫環境保持高機械強度、剛度和硬度，優越的耐化學腐蝕及耐水解性能（目前尚未發現可在200℃以下溶解聚苯硫醚的溶劑，對無機酸、堿和鹽類的抵抗性極強），的耐磨和摩擦性，非常好的尺寸穩定性，的抗高能量輻射，良好的抗紫外線性能，自身具有阻燃性，優良的電絕緣性。
應用領域
