鞏義華凱益鵝卵石又稱礫石，按其外觀和形狀可分為很多種，有拋光和亞光卵石。主要成分是SiO2其次是少量的氧化鐵和微量的猛、銅、鋁、鎂等元素及化合物。它們本身具有不同的色素，如赤紅者為鐵，藍者為銅，紫者為錳，黃色半透明為二氧化硅膠體石髓，翡翠色含綠色礦物等等；由于這些色素離子溶入二氧化硅熱液中的種類和含量不同，因而呈現(xiàn)出濃淡、深淺變化萬千的色彩，使鵝卵石呈現(xiàn)出黑、白、黃、紅、墨綠、青灰等色系。
